HubSpot

Connect HubSpot to Deck to enrich insights with CRM context.

HubSpot is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software that, within Deck, enables your organization to sync customer Companies and Contacts directly to insights in Deck.

Once HubSpot is connected to your workspace, Deck automatically enriches your customer feedback data — letting you filter, segment, and prioritize insights by real business metrics.

Integrating HubSpot with Deck allows your team to:

Once connected, Deck can help you answer questions such as:

  1. What were our highest-paying customers' pain points last quarter?
  2. Which churned customers mentioned implementation friction?
  3. Are expansion-stage accounts requesting specific integrations?
  4. How do product issues differ between SMB vs. Enterprise customers?
  5. What themes correlate most with upsell opportunities?

How the integration works

  1. Enable HubSpot Go to Settings → Integrations → HubSpot, and connect your org. Deck uses OAuth to securely authenticate your account.

  2. Choose which properties to sync During setup, you'll select which Company and Contact fields to bring in (e.g. Annual Revenue, Industry, Lifecycle Stage, etc.). Deck stores only the fields you select.

  3. Automatic enrichment When new feedback or interviews are uploaded, Deck matches them to the right customer record. For example:

    • Feedback from "Acme Inc." will automatically link to the Acme Company in HubSpot.
    • Insights generated from that feedback will inherit selected CRM properties.

💡 Deck does not modify your HubSpot data — it only reads selected fields for enrichment.


Filtering insights by HubSpot properties

Once you've configured HubSpot field selection in your integration settings, you can filter themes and insights by those properties:

  1. Navigate to a theme — Go to any theme detail page or themes list page
  2. Open HubSpot filters — Click the filter icon and select "HubSpot"
  3. Build your filter — Choose between:
    • Company properties — Filter by company-level attributes (e.g., Annual Revenue, Industry)
    • Contact properties — Filter by contact-level attributes (e.g., Job Title, Lifecycle Stage)
  4. Select your criteria — Choose an operator and enter values:
    • equals — Exact match
    • not_equal — Exclude specific values
    • contains_token — Partial text match
    • greater_than / less_than — Numeric comparisons
    • has_property / not_has_property — Check if field is populated

You can apply multiple filters at once to create sophisticated segments.


Mapping custom fields

Because each HubSpot setup is unique, you can select any custom or standard properties from your HubSpot instance.

For example: If you have custom properties like Customer_Health_Score__c or Contract_Value, you can select them during field configuration and use them for filtering.


Data refresh & security

  • Data is refreshed on demand when you apply filters.
  • Deck never writes to HubSpot — it only reads data.
  • All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • You can disconnect HubSpot anytime from the Integrations page.

We do not store any of your HubSpot data in our own databases besides customer ID and company ID.
