Notion
Import pages and databases from your Notion workspace into Deck for AI-powered insight extraction.
Notion Integration
Connect your Notion workspace to Deck and import pages, databases, and documents directly — turning your existing research, notes, and feedback into structured insights.
What You Can Import
Deck can import any Notion content that contains customer feedback or research:
- Pages — interview notes, user research documents, meeting summaries
- Database entries — structured feedback logs, NPS responses, support ticket summaries
- Nested pages — browse your full workspace hierarchy and select individual pages
Setting Up the Integration
- Navigate to Settings → Integrations
- Find Notion and click Connect
- Authorize Deck to access your Notion workspace
- Select which pages and databases Deck should have access to
Tip: You can grant access to specific pages rather than your entire workspace. To add more pages later, return to Settings → Integrations → Notion and update the accessible pages.
Importing Content
Once connected, you can import Notion content from Manage → Notion.
The import wizard walks you through four steps:
Step 1 — Browse
Browse your Notion workspace and select the pages or database entries you want to import. You can navigate nested pages and select multiple items at once.
Step 2 — Classify
Tell Deck what type of content each page contains. Deck uses this to apply the right analysis:
| Content type | Best for |
|---|---|
| User Interview | Interview notes, 1:1 conversation summaries |
| Survey Response | Structured survey answers, NPS responses |
| Support Ticket | Customer support conversations and feedback |
| Sales Call | Sales call notes, demo feedback |
Select the content type and Deck automatically pre-fills the field mappings for you.
Step 3 — Map Fields
Review and adjust how your Notion content maps to Deck's data model:
- Participant — who the feedback is from
- Date — when the feedback was collected
- Content — the main body of the feedback
Drag and drop to reorder or reassign fields.
Step 4 — Review & Import
Preview the mapped data and confirm the import. Deck processes each page through the AI synthesis pipeline and generates insights, themes, and quotes.
Viewing Your Imports
After importing, each Notion page appears in the Manage → Notion section with:
- Status — processing, complete, or error
- Date imported
- Delete — remove an import if needed
Insights from Notion imports appear alongside your other feedback in Insights and Themes.
Tips for Best Results
- Use clear page titles — Deck uses these as the interview/document title in your workspace.
- Include speaker labels in notes — For interview notes written in
Speaker: textformat, Deck can identify individual speakers. - Import focused documents — Highly structured pages (e.g. a dedicated interview notes page) produce better insights than mixed-purpose documents.
- Batch related content — Import pages from the same research session together so themes are identified across them.
